Work at Home Mom Bloggers

by BlondieWrites on April 18, 2010

Work at Home Mom Bloggers

Moms enjoy working at home and caring for their families while making some money. They work for clients that need bloggers on a daily basis or they design blogs for themselves while relying on Google AdSense and affiliate links to make money. Some people laugh when they hear how blogging moms make money, but the truth is that there is money to be made blogging for yourself. You do have to know how to attract traffic and how to present your affiliate links and Google ads to make money.

Blogging for someone else enables you to receive upfront pay. This is the preferred method of blogging for many moms. You can expect to be paid a minimum of $5 for a three hundred word post up to twenty dollars a post. You can find many blogging jobs at sites such as ProBlogger and Craigslist. People use blog writers to keep their blogs updated every day or every other day. If you start a blog and leave it sit, it will not make any money.

Some moms that work at home write content for their own blogs. They start a blog in a niche that they enjoy writing about to attract traffic. By attracting traffic, they are gaining momentum on the Internet and in time, they develop a following. Some of the people that visit their niche blogs will see Google ads and click on the links. Every click makes some amount of money. If they choose the right keywords, the Google ads can amount to quite a bit of money.

Bloggers also join affiliate sites to host banners for big companies such as Petco, Baby Bee and even Sears. Most people use Commission Junction to find commission ads. These are just two ways to make money blogging for yourself. You can run contests and free giveaways to bring traffic to your blogs.

Although writing is part of the blogger’s job, you have to join other forums and message boards so you can participate in discussions with a link as your signature. Everyone on the discussion boards sees this link and they can click the link and check out your blog. Now you are generating more traffic that can lead to more Google ad clicks.

Even though you should write about something that you enjoy, you also should check to see what types of blogs get traffic before you start. You can make as many blogs as you like free with Blogger. Therefore, you might have more than one blog that increases your chances of making money for yourself. The goal of the blogger is to draw traffic to her blog so that she may get some clicks on affiliate sites or Google ads.

Blogging for yourself is a slow process, but if you participate in discussions at forums and message boards with your link, you can increase your traffic and increase your chances of making money. If you need guaranteed pay, you can apply for blogging jobs that pay weekly or monthly. If you work for client’s blogging, you can actually make as much as one hundred dollars a day just writing five blog posts a day.

The only disadvantage of blogging is that you have to write about the same niche repeatedly depending on what you make your blog. If you are working for a client, chances are the topic is going to be repetitive. This is something that you have to consider before starting any blog or blogging job.

Some bloggers also make money making their blogs available for advertisements. This type of ad is called Paid to Post. Companies and individuals pay you so much money to write up a post about their product or website and post it on your blog. You can make as much as one hundred dollars for a three hundred word post if you have a lot of traffic. Monetizing your own blog is easy if you know where to find ways to make money with little work.

Whether you want to work for someone else or blog for yourself will depend on the type of money you want to make. You can do both paid blogging and blogging for yourself and increase your income.

4 Key Ways to Keep Visitors Coming to Your Blog

by BlondieWrites on April 10, 2010

4 Key Ways to Keep Visitors Coming to Your Blog

Blogging is a perfect way for people to share their thoughts with others. When people blog, it means they keep an updated online journal or diary. Weblog and blog are the same things. Companies might also blog to help increase the amount of business on their web sites. For many bloggers, increasing traffic to their blogs is not the only goal. Most people that blog want to keep their visitors coming back for more. The following are four ways to keep visitors coming to your blog site.

Blogging is a relatively new phenomenon. Some blog writes choose to keep their blogs personal and do not share their thoughts with others. These are more like online diaries. Other wants to share with everyone what he or she has to say. Blogging is a big business and many websites offer free blog hosting. In addition, many companies choose blogging as an inexpensive way to advertise their products or services. Blogging on the Internet is often much cheaper than maintaining a web site and is usually more interesting for readers and clients.

Update your blog: The easiest way to keep visitors coming back to your blog site is to update your blog on a regular basis. Readers will stay loyal to blogs that are updated daily. Some blog writers even updated several times a day. Readers will tend to loose interest in your writing if they have to wait several days for new material. Be loyal to your readers and your readers will be loyal to your blog. Also, there are literally thousands of blogs available on the Internet. If your blog is not updated on a regular basis, you will loose your readers to another blog site. Another fun way to update your blog and keep your readers interested in your site is to include something fun for your readers to enjoy. That could be as simple as a joke or maybe a link to a humorous story you have found on the Internet. You might also try including a trivia game or polls for your readers to enjoy on a regular basis.

Participate in web communities: Participating in web communities or discussion forums and mentioning your blog whenever possible will help keep readers coming back to your site. In addition, you can gain new readers when doing this. You can also be loyal to the blogs of other writers and ask them to visit your site. Leave nice comments about their site and invite them to your site. If you have mutual interests and the same type of readers, you can even share your blog links on your site. This helps everyone. Your reader will appreciate interesting reading while you benefit from readers from the other site.

Understand who reads your blogs: Another great way to keep blog readers coming back for more is to understand who reads your blog and write content that is directed towards them. This does not mean that you have to write on only one particular subject, though. If you are a stay at home mom and write about your life at home with the kids, your loyal readers may not appreciate it if you write about cutting edge topics or use a lot of foul language in your writing. If you generally write humor, do not bog your readers down with sorrowful woes and tales. Your readers will be interested in the things that attracted them to your site in the first place. That is usually what you are more interested in writing about. You can gain a better understanding of your readers interested by including places for comments and encouraging your readers to contact you by email.

Include keywords: You can gain readership and help keep your current readers by including certain keywords in your blog. If you have entered your blog on a search engine, these keywords that point to your blog will come up after a search. This is a great way to get readers interested in your blog. This is also a good way for companies to increase the traffic to their blog.

Blogging is the new way to keep a diary or journal online. Blogging is increasingly popular for companies as well. If you want to make your blog stand out against the thousands of other blogs, keep your readers interested and coming back for more everyday by updating your writing, participate in online communities, understand your readers and include keywords.

How to Become a Blog Content Manager

by BlondieWrites on August 2, 2009

Managing a growing and thriving blog can be a truly satisfying career. You not only get to watch your blog change people’s lives, you also get to be part of that by interacting with people on a regular basis. You’re building a community and it doesn’t get much better than that. Here’s how to become a blog content manager.

Step One – Hone Your Skills. A blog content manager is responsible for a wide variety of tasks. You’ll want to make sure your writing skills are not only up to par but finely tuned. It’s important to be able to write confidently on a variety of topics and to be able to match the voice of any particular writer. It’s also important to understand various writing formats. One blog may use a very journalistic style while another blog may use a more personal, story telling or feature style of writing.

In addition to honing your writing skills, you’ll want to hone your organizational skills, understand group and social dynamics, and also ensure you’re comfortable delegating and managing in the event that you’re working with others to build a blog community. You’ll also, of course, want to have a solid understanding of blogging technology and even some basic HTML.

Step Two – Establish your own online presence. The best way to demonstrate your skills is to create your own blog. This will serve as your writing portfolio so to speak as well as demonstrate your understanding of blog community building, internet marketing, and technology.

Step Three – Become involved in online communities. Again, this is a great way to demonstrate your skills but also, becoming actively involved online may lead you to your dream job. One of the best ways to find a great job is to connect with potential employers online – not as a job seeker but as a peer. Be professional and put your best foot forward at all times.

Step Four – Join blog manager groups online or community manager groups online. At first, you may want to simply view what they have to say for a while and learn. After you feel comfortable, you can begin participating. This is a great way to both learn about the industry and to make connections. Additionally, if you have a passion for a specific industry or topic, participate with blogs in that industry. Comment, and become active and then when you’re ready, take that extra step and contact the blog owner.

Sometimes, just getting your name out there with the right people can lead to your dream job. If you’ve made a positive impression, they’ll be happy to share your name with others in the industry. Becoming a blog content manager is a great way to add value to the world and to live an ideal lifestyle, often you can work from home and if you love interacting with others, it doesn’t get much better.
